In our Proverbs reading this week we hear of "Wisdom crying out in the street." There is lament and anger over the peoples' selfish behaviour in relation to God and creation. Following a summer of forest fires, floods and drought, we gather on this first Sunday in the liturgical season of Creation to imagine what Creation itself is crying out in these days.

  • Brass Prelude: Various (arr. Marlatt, Iveson, Marlatt, King)
  • Readings: Proverbs 1:20-33; James 3:1-12; Mark 8:27-38
  • Sermon: “After the Fire" (The Rev. Jason Meyers)
  • Anthems:
    • Through All The World Below (arr. McAfee)
    • Yabban, Yamman (Lang)
  • Brass Offertory: “Prelude” from Te Deum (arr. Smith)
  • Postlude: Nearer My God to Thee (arr. Lutz)
