Peace & Social Justice Group

Metropolitan’s Peace & Social Justice Group is “the group for people
who love social justice”. It is a platform for peace & social justice
minded people at Met to pursue social and economic justice initiatives
aimed at bringing awareness, healing, and empowerment to our
congregation and the wider community.

Promoting Peace (Isaiah 11:6) as a fundamental value of the gospel is at the core of Met's peace and social justice activites. Our work is organized around these three priorities:

Advancing Social Justice (Matthew 25:40; Isaiah 1:17)

Advocating for Ecological Justice (Genesis 1:31

Renewing Relationships with Indigenous Peoples (UCC Song of
Faith, 2006)

We sponsor three peace and social justice services with guest
speakers annually. Click here to watch one of our services.

Since its inception, advocating for peace and social justice has been
part of the fabric of the Metropolitan United Church Community. To
