September 30th is Orange Shirt Day; a day where Canadians are called to honour survivors of Residential Schools and remember those children who did not return home. We will mark Orange Shirt Day in this week's service in our prayers and in the singing of “Two Boats of Kin,” a hymn inspired by the United Church of Canada’s apologies to Indigenous people and responses by Indigenous elders. Please feel free to wear something orange.
In Rev. Aitchison’s sermon this week he asks us to consider: If God FORGIVES me, then should I FORGIVE my neighbour? Yet, giving up resentments can seem as difficult as accepting amputation. Do you have a resentment that it is time to discard?
