On initial reading, it may seem like Mary's anointing of Jesus' feet with expensive perfume and Judas' critique that the money would have been better spent on the poor, sets up an adversarial relationship between acts of worship and acts of charity. In Rev. Meyers' sermon this week, "Feet and Hands," we will explore how Jesus turns this zero-sum thinking on its head and how Mary's act of service provides an important model for Christian discipleship.
