Metropolitan United offers several musical and artistic options for children, youth, and families. The following children and youth music programs are all open to anyone, free, and take place at different times during the week, with performance opportunities throughout the year.

The Choristers are a group aged 6 to 12, led by Michael Denomme. We focus on vocal technique, sight singing, and musical concepts in a fun and engaging setting. The Choristers meet from 9:30 to 10:15 on Sunday mornings in the Morley Punshon (Choir) Room.

A new initiative for the 2024-25 season, the Met Community Children’s Choir meets on Monday afternoons from 4:00 p.m. to 5:15 p.m., in the Chancel Room. This is also for children aged 6 to 12.

The Great Heart Ensemble is Metropolitan United’s music group for youth aged 13 and older, usually meeting on Sunday evenings. Singer and multi-instrumentalist Dr. Benjamin Stein teaches popular music technique and improvisation practice in bass, drums, guitar, keyboard, and voice. The ensemble learns and prepares Rock, R and B, Jazz, and Folk repertoire, and performs at Met several times per year

These groups are always seeking new members. For more information, contact Dr. Jonathan Oldengarm at jonathano@metunited.ca or use the form below.
