Our 2024/2025 Concert Season
Music at Met, Noon at Met & Carillon Concerts

Sunday, November 17 at 3:00 p.m. Trinity Bach Project. In their third appearance at Met, the Trinity Bach Project (period instruments and vocal ensemble) presents a Bach church cantata and other sacred works, with spoken word. Freewill donation requested.

Sunday, December 8 at 2:00 p.m. Deck the Halls! The Met Silver Band (directed by Fran Harvey), with vocal ensemble from the Met Choir and organist Jonathan Oldengarm, presented a fun program of carols–to hear and to sing!  Freewill donation.

Sunday, December 15 at 7:30 p.m. Candlelight Carol Service. A traditional lessons and carols featuring the Met Choir, Choristers, Handbells, and youth ensemble Great Heart. Directed by Jonathan Oldengarm. Freewill donation.

Saturday, January 25, 2025 at 10:00 am (masterclass) and Sunday, January 26 at 3:00 pm (concert): The second Patricia Wright Fund workshop and recital by American rising-star concert organist Amanda Renee Mole. Free admission to both events, but substantial tax-deductible donations to the Patricia Wright Fund are strongly encouraged!

Sunday, February 23, 2025 at 3:00 pm. Diapente in Concert. Formed in 2022 in Toronto, the Diapente Renaissance Vocal Quintet specializes in the beautiful, wonderful, rare and unique vocal music of the 15th, 16th and 17th centuries. Combining solo and ensemble musicianship, bold unpretentious enthusiasm, and scholarly historical approaches to interpretation, Diapente brings the music of old to new audiences. The quintet consists of Jane Fingler (soprano), Peter Koniers (countertenor), Alexander Cappellazzo (tenor), Jonathan Stuchbery (tenor & lutenist), and Martin Gomes (bass). Sponsored by the Norquay Fund of Metropolitan United Church. Tax-deductible donations to the fund are much appreciated.

Good Friday, April 18, 2025 at 7:30 pm. Brahms’ Requiem. The Met Festival Choir and Chamber Orchestra, with soprano Noelle Slaney and baritone Parker Clements and under the direction of Jonathan Oldengarm, present Johannes Brahms’ timeless Requiem in the intimate chamber arrangement by Joachim Linckelmann. Pre-concert talk by Jonathan Oldengarm at 6:30 p.m. Tickets will be available in early 2025: $40 (in person), $15 (livestream).

Saturday and Sunday, May 24 and 25, 2025: Doors Open Toronto. Enjoy guided tours, visual arts displays, organ concerts and demonstrations, and more on this action-packed weekend. 

Thursdays in June 2025, times tba. Carillon Festival. A series of recitals curated by Metropolitan Carillonist Dr. Elisa Tersigni, played on Met’s historic 54-bell Massey/Drury Carillon, a national treasure.

Carillon Recitals
As you pass by Met on Sunday mornings between 10:30 and 11:00 a.m., enjoy the sounds of our 54-bell Massey-Drury carillon, installed in 1922 and enlarged twice since. The carillon can also be heard prior to select Noon at Met recitals, and in a daytime series in June 2025. 
Good Friday 2025: Brahms' Requiem (chamber version)

The Met Festival Choir and Chamber Orchestra are joined by soprano Noelle Slaney and baritone Parker Clements in a Joachim Linckelmann's chamber arrangement of Brahms' timeless masterpiece. Jonathan Oldengarm, direction and pre-concert talk at 6:30 p.m. Tickets will be available in February 2025
