In March 2020, Metropolitan partnered with Colliers, a well-respected real estate broker, to explore development possibilities for the north end of the property. Since then, the congregation has been surveyed to establish preferred development parameters, environmental studies have been completed or are being completed, a planning report has been prepared, and preparation of a long-term lease form is underway.
The Shuter Street development committee, comprised of members of Trustees and the Official Board, recommended that Colliers be authorized to take the long-term lease development opportunity to the market. A joint meeting of Trustees and the Official Board unanimously approved the recommendation on October 13th. The goal is to have Met-approved marketing materials go to the market in early November.
