Worship livestreams are available at metunited.ca/live, and on YouTube.
Each Sunday in Advent we gather in the sanctuary with the Metropolitan Choir, Canada's largest pipe organ, and the sacred words and songs of our tradition.
Celebrating its 90th anniversary year, the Metropolitan Silver Band is a 25+ member brass band, and the only one connected to a United Church congregation in all of Canada. Come ready to have some fun and sing some Christmas classics. Ugly Christmas sweaters welcome but not required!
Shepherds and angels and donkeys, oh my! We remember, and encounter afresh, the wonders of Jesus' birth with poetry, singing, dancing and embodied action.
A Metropolitan tradition - we gather to tell the sacred story of the season with music and scripture under flickering candlelight.
A gentle and supportive service for those who find this season challenging, or need a break from the hustle and bustle of it all. This is an in-person only gathering in the chancel.
This year Christmas Eve falls on a Sunday. Our traditional 11am worship service will incorporate contemporary family-oriented elements to celebrate the birth of Jesus. Rev. Meyers will offer the first part of an original folktale called "The White Rabbit".
O Holy night! The stars are brightly shining. It is the night of the dear Saviour's birth. With the Metropolitan Choir and the sacrament of Communion (where all are welcome), this is always one of most looked forward to services of the entire year.
On Christmas morning at 11am we gather for a cozy and relaxed service with much singing, the conclusion of "The White Rabbit" folktale, and hot apple cider!

In addition to offering a welcoming home for worship since 1818, Metropolitan serves our community by offering a variety of outreach services and programs. Met has been involved in social service downtown since 1917, long before government supports existed. Under our outreach umbrella, many programs today are run by church staff and volunteers, while others use our church facilities or receive other support. Most of our activities take place in the 11,000 sq. ft. Met Centre.
We would be most grateful this Christmas if you would consider a donation to help us in the work we will do in worship and outreach at the heart of downtown Toronto in 2024 and beyond. Thank you!
