Given the events in Washington this week, now more than ever, we need to hear the root message of Jesus. Misreadings of the gospels and misguided interpretations of Christianity need to be soundly renounced and past actions genuinely repented. We mark the baptism of Jesus and are called to remember our own baptisms, reaffirm their import and recommit to living out of their promise. We will gather on Sunday as a community of broken yet hopeful followers of the ways of Jesus, to foster a renewed sense of divine urgency and the comfort of ever proffered spiritual intimacy.
The Rev. Karen Bowles' message at 11am on Sunday is entitled "Visual Grace."
