In our Gospel text this week, the zealous Peter tries to follow Jesus’s example and walk on the water. It does not go well. But before he sinks like a stone in the Sea of Galilee, he calls out to Jesus to “save me!” In Rev. Meyers’s sermon this week, “Get Drenched”, we will consider the counter-cultural and seat-squirming challenge to claim Christ as “saviour".
- Prelude: Works by J.S. Bach; Rachel Laurin
- Readings: Genesis 45:1-15; Matthew 14:22-33
- Sermon: “Get Drenched" (Rev. Jason Meyers)
