RENEW the Carillon RESTORE the Sanctuary REJOICE in McGill Square Park
The congregation at Metropolitan United Church has been blessed with a sacred space that welcomes worshippers and visitors from all parts of the greater Toronto area and beyond.
Over the last 10 years, the congregation has replaced the sanctuary floor, exterior lighting, and entry steps, completely refurbished the organ (the largest in Canada), and seen our heritage building’s exterior cleaned. Throughout 2019 to 2021, the renovation of the north end of the building created accessible, modernized facilities throughout for our many and varied programs and services.
Metropolitan’s Our Third Century Campaign has raised money for three major areas of the church’s property needing attention—the Carillon, the Park in McGill Square and the Sanctuary. This capital campaign has financed projects in these areas as funds became available. Thanks to the outstanding generosity of our donors, we have accomplished much — the Carillon has been completely restored, and plans to rejuvenate our park are in the making with the work anticipated to begin in the summer of 2023. We continue to raise funds to restore our sanctuary.
